What a weekend for British motorsports fans, not only has Lewis Hamilton one his 4th title, Elfyn Evans who drives for M-sport has won the Dayinsure Wales rally GB, he is the first home driver to win this event since the year 2000. This years event drew a crowd of 100,000 spectators who all lined the different stages, on Thursday evening Elfyn evans and his co-driver Daniel Barritt missed out on a stage win as Sébastien Ogier set the ultimate pace, but friday morning was to tell a different tale as the stages moved into the stunning welsh forests, Elfyn Evans/Daniel Barritt revelled in the typical conditions setting the pace and holding the lead at the end of day, then holding the lead into Saturday and Sunday, Elfyn Evans/Daniel Barritt expertly navigated the last stages on Sunday, increasing there lead by 37.3 seconds after the final Brenig Power Stage.

Elfyn Evans now sits with rallying legends such a Roger Albert Clark, Colin McRae and Richard Burns as the 4th home grown Rally of GB, not only that Elfyn Evans is the only Welsh man in the history of the WRC to win a rally, Let’s hope the pro team M-Sport can keep up the pace and provide such an amazing rally car (which was developed / built and tested in Cumbria).

The next WRC event is the Kennards Hire Rally Australia on the 16.11.2017 to 19.11.2017, which will be a mix of hard base roads / loose dusty gravel and shire roads, find out more here.
