Sam Tordoff who was the runner up of the 2016 BTCC season who then switched to the British GT championship for the 2017 season has completed a test with team AmD tuning in the Audi S3 Touring car (NGTC spec) at the Snetterton race circuit in Norfolk.
Sam Tordoff tested the car not for a drive in the 2018 season but to help try and refine the Audi S3 touring car's current setup and handling as well as getting to grips with the car itself (maybe Sam is considering a drive with AmD).
AmD tuning's team boss Shaun Hollamby said:
"The opportunity came up to test a race-winning driver who has the potential to win the championship and we would be silly not to have done it," said Hollamby.
"We would love to have Sam Tordoff in one of our cars and love to run him in the BTCC.
"It is time for AmD Tuning to push forward and we are looking at our programme."
Sam Tordoff has yet to decide where he will be in 2018 saying:
"I have yet to nail down exactly what I will be doing next year and all options are open to me."
AmD racing continued testing at Snetterton this week with Aaron Mason who has competed in the very competitive VW Racing Cup and British GT this year, Sam Smelt who is a former single seater racer and a VW Cup competitor also tested the car out during this week.
AmD tuning have yet to announce who will be driving for them in 2018.
